Nick with his wife Jill and his two boys Joshua and Harry (notice the Doddie tartan!)

Following a challenging three-and-a-half-year journey, Nick received his MND diagnosis in June 2023. Characteristically selfless, he instantly transformed this life-altering news into a powerful mission to support others navigating MND while funding vital research for a cure, benefiting the MND Association and My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. Though he could no longer ride his beloved bicycle, Nick adapted by using e-assist tricycles. With the support of 300 spectators and 150 fellow riders, he completed an inspiring 444-mile trek from Suffolk to Sennen, raising an incredible £30,000. This milestone was only the beginning. Through various local initiatives and a grand gala at Greenwich's Trafalgar Tavern, he has now surpassed £100,000 in donations. Despite current physical limitations that require orthotics for movement within his home, Nick remains resolute and has increased his fundraising goal to £250,000. He reflects, “Life presents many paths; this isn't one I would have chosen, yet I am embracing it to help provide better care today and a cure for tomorrow.”
Guided by his mantra, “I focus on what I can achieve, not what I have lost,” Nick continues to lead the way. This effort belongs to all of us. Join Nick’s MND Walk to contribute to a world free from the shadow of this disease and provide hope for every person diagnosed.
